The curriculum at IILM Sunday School teaches the following Islamic values to young Muslim students - values that lead to a more enriched life and are hard to come by in today's popular culture.
- Seeking nearness to the Almighty in all deeds
- Practicing fairness in all spheres and respecting others' rights
- Ensuring affection towards family members in all interactions
- Acting on principles rather than on a 'win-at-all-cost' mindset
- Looking up to role models - not celebrities - for inspiration
- Pursuing knowledge through inquiry, discourse, and research
- Preferring charity and common good over short-sightedness
We understand that first generation American Muslims are brought up in a culture where logic, knowledge and facts trumps all else. We also recognize that first generation American Muslims grow up in a diverse environment where respect and understanding of other cultures and religions is essential. So our curriculum reflects those realities.

Our Expectation from Teachers
The fundamental responsibility of a teacher is to be a strong role model for students. A teacher's congenial and open relationships with the students, their families and other teachers, help demonstrate Islamic values in action for the students to observe and learn from.
